Overview

Research Bots run AI research jobs that enrich a client's rows with custom fields you define, for example a one-line company summary, a recent funding note, or a tech-stack flag. Upload a CSV of contacts or companies, describe the fields you want filled, run the job, and watch its progress. Review the confidence labels before using results. Completed jobs can be downloaded; stopped or failed jobs with processed rows offer Resume.

How to use this page

  1. Select the client

Pick the client in the top-right switcher so the job runs against that deal's data.

  2. Choose what to research

Toggle between Contacts and Companies at the top so the bot knows what each row represents.

  3. Upload your CSV

Drag and drop a CSV file (or click to browse) with headers and 1 to 10,000 data rows, up to 10MB. Give every column a nonempty, unique name; capitalization and spaces at the start or end do not make names distinct. The page previews the first rows so you can check the file before starting.

  4. Define the target fields

For each field you want filled, give a name and a description of what to find. Add an optional example value and format to steer the results. Clear descriptions produce better answers. Use Add field for more, and pick a starter template if one fits.

  5. Name the job and run it

Give the job a name, add any overall research instructions, then select Run research bot. Watch found, not found and processed counts. Research continues in the background if you leave the page.

  6. Review past jobs

Open View on a finished or stopped job to review its enriched rows and confidence labels. Check low-confidence values before using them. After completion, Download enriched CSV includes confidence columns, Sources, Source Check and Research Passes. Results without a recorded source are withheld as NOT_FOUND, including in older jobs. A cited row still needs your review.

  7. Read large result sets

The results table starts with 200 rows. Select Show all to display the rest. Once the job is complete, Download enriched CSV includes every result row, regardless of the table limit.

What the buttons do

Contacts / Companies
Sets whether each row in your file is a person or a company, so the bot researches the right kind of subject.
Upload CSV
Drag a file onto the dropzone or click to browse. Accepts CSVs with headers up to 10MB; a parse error is shown in the error banner if the file cannot be read.
Target fields
The custom fields to fill, each with a name, description, and optional example and format. Add field adds another; duplicate field names are rejected.
Additional instructions
Optional overall guidance applied to the whole job (tone, sources to prefer, fallback rules).
Run research bot
Starts research across your CSV rows. Progress shows found, not found and processed counts.
View
Opens a past job to see its enriched rows and status.
Download enriched CSV / Download CSV
Downloads every result row after completion, with original values, researched fields, confidence columns, Sources, Source Check and Research Passes. Original input columns that collide with research or metadata names receive an Original prefix; numbered suffixes keep all headers unique. Stopped jobs may show a partial-download icon, but downloading is refused until completion.
Show all
Loads the remaining rows when a result set is larger than 200 and the table is showing only the first 200.
Delete
Removes a job after confirmation and loses its enriched data. If deletion fails, the reason appears in the error banner.
Preview prompt
Shows a preview based on the first uploaded row and your field instructions.
Stop / Resume
Stop halts an active job. In Recent jobs, Resume appears for stopped, failed or pending jobs that already have processed rows and continues from their saved progress.
New Job
Returns from results to a fresh job form.

Common questions

Any custom field you describe, such as a company summary, funding status, or a yes/no signal. Clear field descriptions and examples produce better results.
Processed counts rows already checked. Found means at least one requested field has a high, medium or low confidence result; it does not mean every field was found. Not found means none did. Inspect each field's confidence before using it. These saved job counts can include earlier findings now withheld for missing sources, so compare them with the current results and Source Check column.
Select Show all to display the remaining rows. After the job completes, Download enriched CSV includes every result row.
Upload a CSV with nonempty, unique column headers and 1 to 10,000 data rows, up to 10MB. Rename duplicate headers before starting; capitalization and spaces at the start or end do not make names distinct. Read the error banner if the file is refused.
Delete requires confirmation. If the request fails, read the reason in the error banner. If it keeps failing, share that message with SalesHive support.
SalesHive team members can always use it. Because list building tools use paid data and research credits, a client login can use Research Bots only when the workspace's package includes list building. Otherwise the whole List Building folder is hidden from the client's sidebar, and opening the page directly shows a note saying Research Bots is part of list building, with a suggestion to ask the SalesHive team about adding it.
The field was not found, or the row has no recorded web source. Results without a recorded source are withheld as NOT_FOUND in both the table and download, even for older jobs. A URL written in a researched field alone does not count as a source. Check Sources and Source Check in the completed download; cited means the row has a recorded source, not that every claim is confirmed.
